This brief summarizes selected findings related to hunger and food insecurity in the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) based on 2018-19 District Wide Survey (DWS) responses. We used responses from District parents, guardians, and principals to answer the following research questions:
- To what extent did SDP parents and guardians report being worried about having enough food for themselves and their families?
- To what extent did principals identify food insecurity as a challenge to student learning?
