For nearly our entire lifetime, students were not directly involved in the governing of the District. However, we, the students spend most of our time in our schools and are directly impacted by decisions of the School Board. That’s why we are so excited and grateful to act as Student Board Representatives and bring student voice to the Board of Education.
Understanding the perspective of students is critical when it comes to the decisions that the Board makes, so we’ve been busy visiting schools and engaging with our peers to learn their concerns and opinions, and bring them back to the Board. We are just getting started, but we are excited for all that we have planned for the new year and look forward to making in impact within the School District.
