Non-Teaching Professional Employees (NTPE) support the work of teachers in meaningful ways to improve student outcomes and enhance students’ overall quality of life. Through the Educator Effectiveness Project, Pennsylvania is actively engaged in improving the evaluation and feedback loop for individuals in these vital roles.

Non-teaching professionals, defined as professional employees or temporary professional employees who are education specialists or provide services and who is not a classroom teacher.

While not directly engaged in instruction, these specialists are observed on content specific rubrics aimed at further developing their professional practice. The measures of the Non-Teaching Professional Employee Evaluation system identify core practice and together, provide a holistic view of their practice and impact on student learning.
