The Office of Educator Effectiveness and Evaluation is excited to announce the Teacher Framework Redesign Pilot for the 2023-2024 school year.
Teacher Framework Overview
Teaching and Learning Solutions (TLS) was contracted by the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) to assist in the District’s efforts to develop a growth-focused teacher evaluation model and to assist with the revision of the criteria used to assess teaching practice to ensure that the criteria reflect the teaching practices most beneficial to the students we serve. Survey and focus groups were held to gather input and feedback from parents, students, teachers, school administrators, and central office leaders regarding the framework and components they wanted to see in a growth-based teacher evaluation system.
Based on these survey and focus group results, a draft of the teacher framework and model was created by TLS. Additional feedback was solicited from teachers, school and central office administrators, and parents. Information provided by stakeholders was used to refine the teacher framework and model, define clear expectations for effective teaching, and identify exemplary practices that will enable us to fulfill our vision of preparing students to imagine and realize any future they desire.
