Parent Ceci Santana helps us celebrate #VolunteerAppreciationMonth by telling us why she volunteers in her child’s school. Tell us your story by using the hashtag #IVolunteerBecause and tagging us @sdpFACE!

My name is Ceci Santana and I am a parent volunteer at Feltonville Intermediate School. I like to help and be involved in my stepdaughter’s school. She is in the 4th grade. She has benefitted from this and also has changed her attitude in school.

I have enjoyed being able to help and interact with the kids and school staff. It’s a pleasure to be personally involved in the activities for students and teachers. It’s very important that my concerns and voice is heard when it comes to parent involvement.
