In order to live up to its name, the District Partnerships and Community Engagement committee has committed to participating in meetings across all areas of our Philadelphia community. The goal of having meetings in the community is to meet with community partners in various neighborhoods across the school district to learn of partnerships in action and discuss ways for establishing additional partnerships that can benefit our students and schools. We also want to go to parents and community members, instead of asking them to always come to us. It is our hope that by holding meetings in the community we can increase the engagement of parents and community members, so that we can work together to create solutions to improve our schools and our students’ outcomes. Check out some photos from our most recent District Partnership & Community Engagement Meeting that took place the the MLK Rec Center in North Philadelphia and plan to join us at our next community meeting.
