The Facilities Department was busy during the pandemic, working to support the Maintenance and Capital Departments throughout the shutdown period. Focus was on building cleanliness, ventilation improvements, and modernization of facilities. Tasks were varied, but included coordinating building access, deep cleaning, equipment repair, air balancing, and the installation of air purifiers. Preventative maintenance schedules for HVAC equipment were adjusted for equipment to perform at optimal design levels, and cleaning protocols were updated to align with evolving CDC guidelines. In addition, nine Facilities staff members have completed training to become certified air balancers.
The work the Facilities team completed would not be possible without dedicated and passionate employees. This month we would like to highlight two individuals who serve our District with the utmost professionalism and care. Getnet Getnet (not pictured) is the Building Engineer at Bartram High School, and has served the District for 24 years. Angela Miller (pictured above) is the Custodial Assistant at Juniata Park Elementary School, and has served the District for 34 years!
