Providing Corporate Support for Schools
“I was looking for a way to get my coworkers excited about a back to school drive. How do you decide who to help? What do you give? How can you be sure that it goes to the people who really need it? The Office of Strategic Partnerships (OSP) does more than just provide the framework for a partnership to begin; it provides ongoing support, encouragement, and recognition. OSP creates a network of organizations that share a commitment to our city’s schools, and serves as a hub, facilitating communication, highlighting successes, and sharing best practices.”
— Martina Mansell, RevZilla Corporate Giving Coordinator
Nurture students’ growth by volunteering regularly:
- Mentoring: Dozens of principals have requested mentoring programs to give K-12 students a boost with individualized attention, confidence building and the emotional support for kids to thrive at school.
- Early Grade Literacy: The School District has equipped all Kindergarten to third grade teachers with new training and materials to ensure that every child has access to evidence-based literacy instruction every day. Volunteer teams help extend and enrich this instruction.
- STEM Programs: Prepare students for future careers by introducing them to STEM programs that hone their critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills.
OSP pairs companies with public schools where volunteers can apply their time, skills and positive energy to special opportunities that infuse resources into school communities.
