Education for Sustainability
National Wildlife Federation’s Eco-Schools USA
International program that provides a framework to help educators integrate sustainability principles throughout their schools and curriculum.
EcoSchools certification represents environmental excellence for elementary through secondary schools in the United States. Participation in the program allows students, teachers, school administrators, other school staff, and families to get a clear picture of their current environmental practices and take action to reduce their environmental footprint.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education adopted it as the model eco program and framework to help schools move along the path to becoming a more sustainable.
