Evaluation of Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) Grant-Funded Activities

About the Program

The Education of Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) program works to identify and assist homeless children and youth in the District. ECYEH is supported with grant funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). In addition to tracking and supporting homeless students, ECYEH also works to increase awareness of homeless student rights and issues. ECYEH works with schools, shelter providers, and families to facilitate information-sharing and to provide a wide range of supports and services.

About the Evaluation

The Office of Research and Evaluation (ORE) conducts yearly evaluations of the ECYEH Program. The evaluation looks at the services provided by ECYEH as well as student outcomes including attendance, perception of school climate, and academic achievement.
