COLIN IN BLACK AND WHITE, the acclaimed 6-episode Netflix series co-created by Colin Kaepernick and DuVernay. COLIN IN BLACK AND WHITE follows Kaepernick’s formative years navigating race, class and culture in his pursuit for greatness. The learning companion delves deeper into the series’ themes to foster a greater understanding of subjects such as race, identity, social construction, coded language, equity, and power.

ARRAY collaborated with numerous education experts to create activities in this guide, including an Environmental Data Scan where participants examine the link between zip codes and equity, and a data analysis lesson in which learners synthesize facts around team ownership in professional sports.
