STUDENT VOICE ADVISORY BOARD

The Student Voice Advisory Board (SVAB) consists of student leaders from various District-operated high schools who participate in partner programming. It is a collaborative space for students to develop their advocacy and leadership skills, share valuable feedback on student experiences at their school, and learn about how decisions relative to partner programming are made at the District.

Student Advisors will:

  • Represent perspectives from students in partner programs
  • Provide feedback on their experiences in partner programming at their school to OSP
  • Offer recommendations for program improvements
  • Identify gaps in program types offered and students served
  • Collaborate with OSP on projects or conduct research projects
  • Receive training on mentorship and youth empowerment from Mentor IR

Schedule

SVAB meets twice a month (every other Friday) – for one hour – from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at the School District of Philadelphia’s Central Office located at 440 N. Broad Street.

Applications for the 2023-24 school year are now open. Click the button below to visit our application page.

1.

I want to hear from a program about how they pick a school to begin programming.

2.

I want to access District data about school partnerships and needs.

3.

I see a gap in program offerings at my school/between schools.

I want to advocate for a change in programming.
