Cigna Dental Oral Health Integration Program® . Our plan offers enhanced dental services for individuals with qualifying conditions and for pregnant women. It’s easy to enroll. If you have heart disease, history of a stroke, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, have had an organ transplant or had head and neck cancer radiation, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, complete the Cigna Dental Oral Health Integration Program® Registration Form and fax it to 859-550-2662 or mail to Cigna Dental P.O. Box 188037 Chattanooga, TN 37422.

NOTE: the SDP plan also includes Periodontal Treatment & Maintenance for Members with LUPUS and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Cigna dental became the Districts dental provider 1/1/2020.  Why was this change made?

After a thorough request for proposal (RFP) process, the District selected Cigna Dental to provide dental benefits.  Some key benefits of the Cigna program include:

  • a larger provider network, meaning more employees are able to access services and receive in-network reimbursements
  • a robust member services program with 24/7/365 personal advocates
  • a full function member app that let’s you estimate dental costs, find a dentist and view, fax or email your ID card.
  • a wellness and chronic conditions benefit that provides 100% coverage for eligible procedures for members with qualifying medical conditions.

How do I know if my dentist is participating?

You can ask your dentist if they participate with the Cigna DPPO network, or you can contact Cigna 24/7 at 800.564.7642.  They can answer questions about your benefits and help you find participating dentists.

Is my dentist participating?  What if I need to find a participating dentist?

It’s easy to search for a dentist on Cigna.com.  Visit the site and click “Find a Doctor, Dentist or Facility.”  Follow the prompts on screen and when asked to choose your plan, select “DPPO/EPO > Total Cigna DPPO.”

How is Cigna’s Customer Service?

In a 2018 national satisfaction survey, Cigna’s results indicated 97% overall satisfaction with Cigna handling of dental claims and 96% overall satisfaction with Cigna Dental benefit plan. Patients reported a 99.52% overall experience with Cigna DPPO and a 99.5% likelihood to recommend.

What do Dentists think?

Cigna was ranked number 1  (best in class dental carrier) by Dentists nationally in a combined 2018 survey for DPPO and DHMO dentists.  For both 2018 and 2019 year to date, Cigna’s voluntary provider terminations in the DPPO network was less than ½% for all dentists types (primary and specialists) nationally.
