Professional Development FAQs

Below you will find answers to commonly asked questions regarding professional development sessions.

Will I get paid for this PD session? If so, what is the pay rate and when will I get the money?

Participants of PD sessions are paid the contractual PD rate of $29.45 per hour. Turn around time is generally 4 to 6 weeks from the date of the session. The time frame may vary due to the size of the event and/or the volume of paperwork that needs to be processed. The payment will be coded most likely with SD CURRIC on your paycheck.

Will I receive Act 48 hours for this PD? How do I track my Act 48 hours?

Participants receive Act 48 hours for all PD sessions coordinated by the OTL team. Every session will have an Act 48 sign-in sheet. Sign-in is mandatory to receive Act 48 hours. You can view your accumulated hours by accessing Cornerstone.

How do I search and register for a PD event? Do I have to attend all sessions?

All registration is done through Cornerstone. Search with the session title or use the calendar. Click on the session and register. Note the contact info for the session facilitator. If you cannot attend a session, email the facilitator to let them know.

Who can come to these workshops/sessions?
